Leading The Way In The Next Gen of Solar Energy

Tigo & Sol-Ark Join Forces For Safe Solar Energy

Tigo and Sol-Ark are leading the way to the next generation of solar energyIt should come as no surprise that solar energy is quickly becoming one of the most preferred modes of renewable energy. In fact, in recent years solar energy usage among residential and commercial properties has increased significantly, with roughly 16 million American homes powered by solar energy each year. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has since slowed the market down substantially. Nevertheless, solar energy is clearly the energy of the future, and that’s why companies like Tigo and Sol-Ark are continuing to create, innovate, and introduce new technologies, systems, and solutions that stand to make solar power more reliable, more efficient, and less costly, while also upgrading the safety features that every homeowner wants in their energy system.

Tigo’s new Rapid Shutdown systems have been implemented into our new Sol-Ark 12K All-In-One Solar Generator system so you can rest assured you will have safe solar energy. This unique and proprietary technology is an industry first, and it’s one of the most advanced rapid shutdown systems currently available – and it’s one that works with a variety of inverters, making it virtually model-agnostic.

For a quick refresher, take a look below:

What Is The System?

“According to Tigo, ‘Tigo’s TS4 MLPE modular platform has been certified by Underwriters Laboratories and International Electrotechnical Commission for fully complying with National Electric Code 2014, 2017, and 2020 690.12 Rapid Shutdown Regulations. Tigo is the only UL-certified MLPE solution with multiple inverters from various inverter manufacturers.”

Now, here at Sol-Ark, we’ve been proud to use the TS4-F with our 12K All-In-One hybrid system because of its very simple install with power line communication and effective ability to detect arc faults and ground faults as they occur. While the Sol-Ark inverter has arc fault detection built in, the double layers of protection protect all the high voltage wiring in the arrays to reduce the risk of fire exponentially. Again, while the risk of a fire in our hybrid generator is low, the risk is present with any electric generator in any building. But thanks to this system, we can significantly reduce the risk, ultimately making the system safer, more reliable, and more efficient for our users and the safety of first responders.

We listen to our installers and added a RSD button input that when shorted, will turn off both the Tigo PV modules and the inverter AC outputs. This is a growing safety requirement in some Cities and Counties. It is especially helpful when wanting to shut down many parallel or dispersed systems with one button.

The Sol-Ark 12K All-In-One Solar Generator Hybrid System

In addition to equipping our hybrid system with Tigo’s Rapid Shutdown system, we also carry a wide range of features that stand to make our new hybrid inverter one of the most versatile, flexible, and efficient solar generators in the market.

DC Transformer-less

Because the system itself runs without a DC transformer, you can boost your energy PV by as much as 20% without increasing PV array size. Not to mention, it also reduces your storage inverter costs by up to 30%, which ultimately results in tremendous savings down the road.

Increased Battery Efficiency

When designing the 12K, we knew we needed to make the system more energy efficient than others on the market. We worked to improve battery efficiency by 10-15% to ensure that owners could make the most out of their systems. Today, we work with many different Lithium battery manufacturers and our Sol-Ark Partial Charge Carbon AGM, both with round trip efficiencies of nearly 98% vs. Wet Cell efficiency of 80%.

An Easy Installation

As a hybrid system, it’s smaller footprint and all-in-one design cuts installation time in half. With 2x MPPTs, and 9kW continuous / 20kW peak inverters, along with a user-friendly wiring area, and remote monitoring built into the system, the generator is one of the simplest installs around.

DC & AC Coupling

To provide even more power, the Sol-Ark 12K supports simultaneous DC and AC coupling, up to a combined 13kW of PV for the ultimate power boost.

UPS (4ms)

Last, but certainly not least, the Sol-Ark 12K acts as a massive and entirely uninterruptible power supply that features extremely fast transfer times of just 4ms. This means that when you need power, you can get it quickly, reliably, and efficiently without any interruptions.

Learn More About The Sol-Ark 12K

It’s time for you to reduce your solar energy costs by 50%+. The Sol-Ark 12K hybrid inverter, equipped with Tigo Technology’s Rapid Shutdown system is one of the most advanced, versatile, and efficient solar energy generators on the market, and it’s poised to bring forth the next generation of solar energy efficiency.

In fact, the system is so efficient, that it beats competitors in nearly every facet. With 3.5% losses when compared to the industry standard of 14%, with expandable panels, and grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid functionality that gets managed simultaneously by the system itself, the 12K is easily one of the most advanced, flexible, and easily scalable systems around.
