Meet the New Limitless 12K-2P-LL: More Power, Lower Cost, and Easier Installation
Sol-Ark announces the release of the Limitless 12K-2P-LL. The new Sol-Ark Limitless 12K-2P-LL builds on the success of the popular 12K platform with meaningful improvements that benefit both homeowners and installers. Designed to deliver higher performance, greater installation flexibility, and a lower overall project cost, the 12K-2P-LL raises the bar for residential solar and energy storage systems.
Compared to the previous 12K-2P-LV, the new 12K-2P-LL offers more solar capacity, more AC passthrough capability, stronger backup power capabilities, faster battery charging, and significantly greater installation flexibility; all while launching at a lower price point.
Why the Limitless 12K-2P-LL Delivers More Value for Homeowners and Installers
One of the biggest advantages of the 12K-2P-LL is its ability to deliver more energy and more value from a single platform.
Maximum PV input has increased from 13 kW to 19.2 kW, allowing homeowners to capture more energy from available roof space and maximize long-term energy production. Grid-tied output has increased from 9 kW to 12 kW, while battery backup power has been boosted to 10 kW. Battery charging capability has also improved, increasing from 185A to 220A for faster charging and improved energy availability.
Perhaps the most impactful upgrade is the increase in passthrough capability from 63A to 100A. For many homes with 100A service panels, this enables true whole-home backup without the expense and complexity of a main service panel upgrade.
That means lower project costs for homeowners and fewer installation hurdles for contractors. By eliminating panel upgrades in many applications, installers can reduce labor, simplify permitting, avoid utility coordination delays, and complete projects faster.
The result is a system that can harvest more solar energy, charge batteries more quickly, support larger household loads, and help homeowners reduce utility costs through Time-of-Use optimization, peak shaving, Virtual Power Plant participation, net metering programs, and zero-export applications.
Even better, the 12K-2P-LL launches with an MSRP of $3,999—lower than the previous generation’s MSRP of $4,350.
How the 12K-2P-LL Simplifies Solar + Battery System Installation
The 12K-2P-LL was engineered with installers in mind. New 300A battery terminals, 100A grid and load terminals, and three 32A MPPT inputs provide greater flexibility when designing and wiring larger residential energy storage systems.
A redesigned open wire box eliminates integrated load, grid, and battery breakers, creating cleaner wire management and easier installation access. Direct front-facing access to line, neutral, and ground terminals further streamlines field wiring and reduces installation time.
The inverter is also smaller and lighter than its predecessor, weighing just 65 pounds compared to 78 pounds for the previous model. The reduced weight makes transportation, mounting, and service work easier for installation crews.
Flexible System Design for New Installations and Retrofits
Every project is different, and the 12K-2P-LL was designed to adapt. Whether you’re installing a new solar-plus-storage system or upgrading an existing site, the inverter supports both DC-coupled and AC-coupled architectures. Its multifunction AC port can be configured for generator input, AC-coupled PV, or smart load control, giving installers greater design flexibility without requiring additional hardware platforms.
With 100A passthrough capability, support for up to 14 kW of AC-coupled solar or generator input, and seamless operation in both grid-connected and off-grid applications, the 12K-2P-LL delivers the performance homeowners expect and the flexibility installers need.
Smart Energy Management with the MySolArk Ecosystem
The Sol-Ark experience extends beyond the inverter itself. Homeowners can monitor system performance, review historical energy production and consumption data, access support resources, and participate in Virtual Power Plant programs through the MySolArk V2 mobile app.
Installers will soon gain access to even more powerful tools through the upcoming MySolArk Installer App, scheduled for release in June 2026. The platform will provide guided commissioning, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi pairing, utility rate and Time-of-Use profile configuration, one-touch battery setup, installation reporting, and remote fleet management capabilities. These features help reduce truck rolls, simplify commissioning, improve customer support, and accelerate project completion.
A New Benchmark for Residential Energy Storage
For installers looking to deliver more value, reduce installation complexity, and future-proof residential energy systems, the Sol-Ark 12K-2P-LL represents a significant step forward.
With higher solar capacity, stronger backup performance, faster battery charging, expanded installation flexibility, and a lower MSRP, the 12K-2P-LL sets a new benchmark for residential hybrid energy storage.
