Mark Stevens purchased Vulture Ranch, an off-grid rental property, in 2022. With 40 acres of pristine desert scenery, and proximity to the historic Vulture City mining ghost town, and exquisite furnishings; it was his own slice of heaven which he intended to share with vacation rental guests.
However, the sprawling ranch did not have a reliable power source. Mark contacted NewGrid to design a Sol-Ark® residential energy storage system to deliver stable power to his remote vacation rental ranch.
Since implementing Sol-ark® hybrid inverters and Pytes 48V batteries, the system now covers all of the sprawling facilities loads and has enabled integration of the facilities 200kW generator into one electrical system.

The homeowner was relying on a full-time diesel generator to power their property, leading to high energy costs and logistical challenges due to fuel delivery in a remote area. The homeowner needed a solution that would eliminate these issues while ensuring reliable power for their home.

THE RESULTS
DESERT ENERGY INDEPENDENCE & RESILIENCE
With power secured, Mark is expecting his first paying guests/customers to the off-grid property in late August of 2024. They will enjoy closed access to the Vulture City mining ghost town, as well as beautiful views of the desert landscape.
NewGrid is working with the nearby municipalities to provide power to a camping site while minimizing generator noise.
